For over fifteen years I’ve worked on non-profit administration in a variety of sectors, including the arts, education and animal welfare. I specialize in operations and strategic planning.

I currently serve on the boards of Ars Nova, Story Pirates Inc., One Tail at a Time Portland and Woodstock Farm Sanctuary. I manage the Payne Brodeur Giving Fund, which supports a variety of non-profit causes, particularly grassroots organizations that have challenges accessing larger dollar donors.

I am a founding member of Women Funders in Animal Rights and sit on their Leadership Council.

As one of the first employees at Story Pirates, I created their producing department before serving as the Development Director for their flagship Story Pirates Changemakers programs. I left my staff role there in June of 2018 and joined the Board of Directors.

In addition to my non-profit strategic planning consultation work and board service, in the for profit space I invest at the intersection of food systems, environmentalism and labor rights through Ursa Minor Ventures.

I live in New York with my husband, Alex Payne. We share our home with an impossibly loud tortoiseshell cat, another cat named after my favorite fictional British DCI, and our two children. In 2025 we founded Metamorphoses Farm, a perennial agroforestry project in Jackson, New York, in collaboration with Breadtree Farms.

I like big ideas and people who have a lot of them. My favorite animal is the moose.
